Connected in Motion: Community Events – Paris to Ancaster Bike Race

A glimpse into the third annual winter Slipstream event put on by Connected in Motion. 45 Type 1’s came up to Haliburton, Ontario for a weekend of awesome outdoor fun!
On January 16th 2011, Type 1 athletes, ambassadors and role models cycled in the lululemon storefront for 7 hours straight to raise awareness of Type 1 diabetes, educate people about the differences between Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, encourage people to live active healthy lives and connect with other Type 1’s in the Bow Valley.
On November 14, 2010, 45 adults with Type 1 diabetes, their friends and families took on the streets of Toronto, Ontario to educate the public about T1 with a diabetes themed photo scavenger hunt. Here are our favourite photos!
Connected in Motion hit up Joe Rockhead’s in Liberty Village for a Saturday of indoor rock climbing. 10 CIMers bouldered and climbed their way through the challenges and routes.
Connected in Motion has come a long way in the 2.5 years since its inception. This summer CIM embarked on a journey to connect with Type 1’s across Canada, from east to west.

The first ever and first annual Connected in Motion Canoe trip! A group of 14 people with Type 1 Diabetes packed up and headed 45 min north of Belleville Ontario and embarked on a long and challenging 3 day canoe trip.
27 Type 1 Diabetics made the trek up north to YMCA Wanakita. This is their shared experience.
