Thanks to the the amazing fundraising efforts of #TeamCIM at Ottawa Race Weekend in May, Connected in Motion is able to offer scholarship opportunities to individuals who may otherwise be unable to join us during our summer adventure series. We have a limited number of spaces available on each trip so don’t delay in getting in touch if you’re able to join!

Garibaldi Backpacking Trip  |  Scholarship Details

Dates: Thursday July 23 (Morning Arrival) – Sunday July 26 (Lunchtime Departure)

Scholarship Opportunity: In total, CIM has 4, $250 scholarships available. The total trip cost will be $100, plus transportation to and from Garibaldi Provincial Park.

What is included? Park permits, and camping fees, all food (Thursday lunch through Sunday lunch) is included. All of the group gear (tents, stoves, cooking equipment, water filtration, etc.) will be provided by CIM. All you need is a sleeping bag, sleeping pad, and hiking pack (Don’t have ’em? Let us know – we can help!), day pack, hiking gear (shoes, clothes, water bottle, etc), and transportation to Garibaldi.

Trip Details: The Garibaldi Backpacking Trip involves a backpacking trip into Garibaldi Lake Campground where we will set up camp and basecamp for three nights. Each day, we will travel as a group throughout Garibaldi’s spectacular hiking trails, visiting Panorama Ridge and Black Tusk.

This trip is currently open to Adults living with Type 1 diabetes. CIM will provide experiential diabetes education opportunities throughout the program and ensure that everyone learns some tips and tricks for making life with diabetes just a little bit easier.
