Scholarship Opportunity: In total, CIM has 4, $250 scholarships available. The total trip cost will be $100, plus transportation to and from Garibaldi Provincial Park.
What is included? Park permits, and camping fees, all food (Thursday lunch through Sunday lunch) is included. All of the group gear (tents, stoves, cooking equipment, water filtration, etc.) will be provided by CIM. All you need is a sleeping bag, sleeping pad, and hiking pack (Don’t have ’em? Let us know – we can help!), day pack, hiking gear (shoes, clothes, water bottle, etc), and transportation to Garibaldi.
Trip Details: The Garibaldi Backpacking Trip involves a backpacking trip into Garibaldi Lake Campground where we will set up camp and basecamp for three nights. Each day, we will travel as a group throughout Garibaldi’s spectacular hiking trails, visiting Panorama Ridge and Black Tusk.
This trip is currently open to Adults living with Type 1 diabetes. CIM will provide experiential diabetes education opportunities throughout the program and ensure that everyone learns some tips and tricks for making life with diabetes just a little bit easier. (There may be opportunities for 5.5ers – loved ones without Type 1 diabetes – to join in on this trip. Want to learn more? Get in touch.)
See you on the trails!
