Connected In Motion launched the Western Addition of the Get Moving Series on April 8th 2015. To help us kick off Spring, the first event was an exciting game of Frisbee Golf. Since then, our Calgary Ambassadors have hosted a second Get Moving Series event and a Mix N’ Mingle Trivia night. Check out the event recap from the first ever Western Get Moving Series!

On Wednesday April 8th we had our first Get Moving Series event in Calgary. Six individuals with Type 1 diabetes and one 5.5er got together at Baker Park to test out or frisbee golf skills. If only we knew that the plastic frisbees wouldn’t hold up compared to the hardcore participants playing around us with backpacks full of drivers, putters and more. On a par 3 we were getting par 15! All in all we had a lot of laughs.  Some of us had high sugars, others were popping dex tabs, one of our frisbees ended in a tree, but on the bright side, we had no wind! All in all it was a great time but we hope to have better frisbees next time so we can keep up with the pros.

The ever elusive, rarely seen, Tree Ninja – know for their stealthy Frisbee retrieving skills.

Nice shot!

Next month we have our Trail Mix ‘N Mingle trivia night. We usually make two to four teams and answer crazy questions – anything from “how many miles can a hummingbird fly in one straight stretch”, to true or false, or guess this tune.

Come on out and help us get in first place (something we have never done before)! We look forward to seeing you this summer!
