We are excited to launch registration for our FIRST Western Slipstream Weekend.
The Slipstream is headed West!
What? Connected in Motion’s 1st Western Slipstream Weekend
When? Friday September 21st – Sunday September 23rd 2012
Where? Strathcona Park Lodge, Campbell River, BC
A Slipstream Weekend is an active, social and educational weekend for adults (19+) living with Type 1 diabetes. But that explanation sounds so formal…
What it really is… is a weekend jam packed full of outdoor adventure, engaging workshops, great food and incredible people. It’s a chance to connect (or re-connect) with like-minded Type 1′s, get out and try something new, learn from each others’ experiences and celebrate the year’s accomplishments – focusing on the positive aspects of what we CAN do with Type 1 diabetes.
Nestled on the shores of Upper Campbell Lake in the mountainous interior of Vancouver Island, Strathcona Park Lodge‘s wilderness playground will play host to Connected in Motion’s first Western Slipstream weekend.
Strathcona is known for it’s incredibly beautiful location, fabulous facilities and delicious, locally sourced food. The Lodge’s 160 acre lakefront property boasts rock climbing bluffs, hiking trails, old growth trees, lake paddling, a high and low ropes course, zip lines and much more. Our weekend schedule will make the most of this outdoor adventure playground as well as providing some time downtime for you to relax and soak it all in.
Join us for a social weekend of experiential diabetes education, outdoor adventure and relaxation September 21-23rd 2012.
NOTE: Western Slipstream officially starts at 5pm on Friday September 21st and ends at 2pm on Sunday September 23rd. If need to make alternate arrangements for arrival/departure, no problem! Just let us know!
