Building off of the success and excitement of the 2010 World Diabetes Day Photo Scavenger Hunt, CIM will be hosting a City-Wide Photo Scavenger Hunt to celebrate Diabetes Awareness Month again in 2012.

As World Diabetes Day falls on a Wednesday this year, the Photo Scavenger Hunt and Celebrations will be taking place on Saturday November 10, 2012 in cities across North America, and beyond! The scavenger hunt is NOT city specific! You can participate from anywhere! The purpose of the event is to get outside, connect with fellow T1s, 5.5ers, families and friends, spread awareness about diabetes and, of course, celebrate!

What is a photo scavenger hunt, you ask? Teams will be provided with a list of D-themed items to find, and take photos with (ex. Find the snack that would require the largest bolus). Photos can be uploaded online and entered to win some great prizes!

Team captains will have the chance to register their teams (recommended team size is 4-5 individuals, any ages!) to participate in the event. Do you know several teams/families/groups of friends that may be interested in your area? GREAT! We can help set you up with everything that you’ll need!

Photos will be uploaded online following the event and winning photos from across the country (and beyond!) will be showcased on the CIM Facebook Page and Website and will be featured in a special presentation at the Slipstream in the City Celebration (November 30, 2012) in Toronto!

(a) Register as a TEAM CAPTAIN participating in a city that IS HOSTING a formal event
(b) Register as a TEAM CAPTAIN participating in a city that is NOT HOSTING a formal event
(c) Register as an INDIVIDUAL for the TORONTO Scavenger Hunt Event
(d) Register as a convener looking to HOST the CIM Scavenger Hunt with your own group/organization OUTSIDE of Toronto (with multiple teams)

Connected in Motion strives to foster a healthy and active community of individuals with Type 1 diabetes, their friends, and family members. CIM programming is made possible, largely, by the generous donations of those connected to this community. In order to keep the 2012 WDD Photo Scavenger Hunt accessible to all individuals, there is no registration fee for this event; however, any donation would be gratefully accepted. Suggested donation: $5-10.
