You might be wondering what CIM has been up to since Winter Slipstream. We’ve had a lot going on these past few months and wanted to share some of the highlights with you!

This winter we partnered, once again, with Riding On Insulin, a non-profit based out of Whitefish, Montana to host two Canadian events. These events are a great place for adults with T1 to give back to the community and for families to see that a community exists for those adults. Our first stop was Mount St Louis Moonstone, just outside of Barrie, Ontario on February 21st. Weather was on the cooler side but the smiles on the faces of the group were big and bright! The founder of ROI, Sean Busby, made his Ontario debut. He spent the day snowboarding with the kids and later presented about his snowboarding life with T1D.
Next, we were off to Alberta and spent March 13th-14th at Nakiska Ski Resort. The event was closer to waterskiing than downhill skiing (it POURED rain) but the kids and volunteers made the best of it, and stayed outside until the very end! Another great event with great families and volunteers.

Thanks, ROI, for bringing your adventures to Canada and thank you to all the participants and volunteers of 2015. We could not have done it without you!
What’s happening now you ask?
This spring we launched into our Get Moving Series to help you get active and get ready for summer! We’ve got events happening across Canada. Choose your own adventure – Trail Mix ‘N Mingle Events (think CIM Pub Nights, but with a new fancy name!), Get Moving Series Events, Ottawa Race Weekend, and our Summer Adventure Series Programs. There’s lots to choose from to keep you connected all summer long!
Ottawa Race Weekend – Team CIM
Help our team of runners hitting the pavement May 23rd – 25th for the Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend by donating to their run campaigns. All proceeds raised help Connected In Motion deliver programs across the country.
Our Get Moving Series Events
February 3rd CIM kicked off the Get Moving Series in Toronto with a skate night at Nathan Phillips Square. Over 20 people came out to this free event to catch up with old friends, meet new ones, all while showing off their skills! This was the FIRST of the Get Moving Series Events hosted across Canada.
We’ve already brought out our Yogi and inner Frisbee masters at the latest Get Moving Series Events. Keep your eyes on the CIM calendar for our upcoming events.
We encourage you to get outside, get active, and get moving this Spring!
