November 14th is World Diabetes Day. To celebrate, we’re getting together to get active and have some fun! Join us for an afternoon diabetes-themed photo scavenger hunt in the heart of Toronto.

We will continue the evening with dinner and drinks at Jack Astor’s 144 Front Street, Toronto and a visit to the downtown landmarks participating in the WDD Monument Challenge.

Here’s a bit of history: In 2007, the United Nations marked November 14th World Diabetes Day, an official United Nations World Health Day. From 2009 through 2013, World Diabetes Day is focused on ‘Diabetes Education and Prevention’ (especially active living to prevent T1 complications).

Teams will be made up of (preferably) 4-5 individuals. If you’ve got enough people to make up your own team, amazing! Let us know on the sign up sheet. If you’d like to be placed on a team on the morning of the event, that’s great too! Everyone is welcome to bring out family and friends! The more people involved, the more impact we’ll have!

The official logo of World Diabetes Day is a Blue Circle, the official colour is BLUE. So be sure to wear your blue on November 14!

If you are not able to make it to Toronto on November 14, but would like a copy of the Photo Scavenger Hunt rules and clues so you can participate in your own community, please forward your email to jen@connectedinmotion.ca and we’ll pass copies on to you.
