Finger Lakes Cycling Tour
June 28, 2013 - July 1, 2013
$75Hosted by the Finger Lakes Cycling Club, Connected in Motion will have the opportunity to join in a four day cycling tour of the Finger Lakes Region in New York State!
The Finger Lakes region of central New York state is home to some of the best scenic roads in the region. With several long “Finger Lakes” stretching longitudinally, and gently-rolling hills in between, there are so many great roads to ride on and so much to see. The lakes are lined with dozens of vineyards, and many of the rivers have created gorges and waterfalls taller than Niagara Falls, making this area a great scenic destination.
This cycling trip is open to type 1s, and will be suitable for anyone with moderate cycling experience. The days will be spent venturing out into the countryside on beautiful rural roads with ample time to see the sights. A typical day will have us outside most of the day, riding at a modest pace. Rest assured that this is meant to be a scenic ride, and that we will have rest time off the bike along the way to check out the local sites – to include a cidery, vineyards, waterfalls, and ice cream!
Participants can plan to arrive to Ithaca during the evening of the 28th. We will discuss the plans for the weekend, preview the map routes, and tune up our bikes. Saturday, Sunday, and Monday mornings we will venture out by bike, spending the day riding and checking out the sites. Monday we will be returning back to the start location before packing up and heading home.
