It’s never been easier to access a wealth of knowledge and diabetes care support thanks to the continuing innovation of diabetes technology and the amplification it gets from social media. We now have more effective diabetes technology options to suit our unique lifestyle needs and can share our experiences with others to help us navigate the journey and feel less alone. We’re collaborating with our friends at Tandem Diabetes Care and sharing the experiences of real-world Control-IQ technology users to inspire innovation, change, and connection.

We work hard to get information into the hands of the diabetes community whenever we feel it may help people live life without limits.

Though the Connected in Motion community (and so many other incredible diabetes communities) came together in an era before social media, platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter have made it easier than ever to grow meaningful, supportive relationships. The broader online diabetes community also allows for the exchange of shared knowledge and experiences.

Information about products, software, and technology are at your fingertips, as well as is information about how those advancements are helping people. So much of navigating life with diabetes comes down to personal preferences and finding options which fit our unique lifestyles.

While we can gain insight into how new technology may fit into our lives by meeting with members of our diabetes care team and reading information packets, many of our specific questions about the user experience are often best answered by community members.

When the t:slim X2 insulin pump with Control-IQ technology from Tandem Diabetes Care hit the market, the diabetes community was abuzz. It features integration with Dexcom’s G6 Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) sensor. This hybrid closed-loop system presented an exciting new option designed to protect against more severe hyperglycemia and hypoglycemia incidents, and features automatic correction bolusing,* changes in basal insulin, and even different settings for different activities. All of this sounded awfully promising! So, how did it stack up in real life?

Turns out, people have had some pretty incredible experiences with the t:slim X2 insulin pump with Control-IQ technology. From feeling more freedom on adventures or at family events, to feeling more confident bolusing for personally “tricky” foods, to feeling even more security at night with fewer lows, the t:slim X2 insulin pump with Control-IQ technology has provided a world of new opportunities for many people.

To learn more about the impact the t:slim X2 insulin pump with Control-IQ technology has had on the lives of our community members, we decided to explore social media to see what people were saying!

*If glucose values are predicted to be above 180 mg/dL, Control-IQ technology calculates a correction bolus using the Personal Profile settings and a target of 110 mg/dL and delivers 60% of that value. An Automatic Correction Bolus will not occur within 60 minutes of a bolus that has been delivered or canceled. Control-IQ technology does not prevent all highs and lows. You must still bolus for meals and actively manage your diabetes. Please visit tandemdiabetes.com/tslimX2-use for more information.
