Algonquin Provincial Park – The Barron Canyon
We will be meeting at Achray Campground where we will stay our first night of the trip. Achray Campground is located on the eastern side of Algonquin Provincial Park, approximately 3 hours west of Ottawa (1.5 hours west of Pembroke), and approximately 6 hours northeast of Toronto. Achray Campground is situated at:

Directions from Pembroke:
From Highway 17, turn south on County Road. 26 (Doran Road). Drive 300 m and turn right onto County Road. 28 (Barron Canyon Road). Drive 26 km to Sand Lake Gate, then turn left and drive 4.5 km to Achray Campground on Grand Lake.
Directions from Toronto (Via 401 W, ON-115 N, ON-28 N):
Take the 401 W from Toronto and get off at exit 436 for ON-35/ON-115 towards Lindsay/Peterborough. Continue on ON-115 N for 51 km. Slight right onto Hwy 7/Trans Canada Hwy (signs for Ottawa). Drive for 7.3 km and then turn left on ON-28 N. Stay on ON-28 N for 101 km.
Turn left onto Chemaushgon Rd, and then right onto Station St. Drive After 400 m, turn left onto Hastings St N/ON-62 N. Continue on ON-62 N for 55 km.
Turn right onto Old Barrys Bay Rd and drive for 8 km. Turn right onto Hopefield Road, drive for 6.5 km and turn left onto Opeongo Road. After 850 m, turn right onto Wilno S Road, continue for 5.5 km and turn right onto ON-60 E. Stay on ON-60 E for 6 km and turn left onto Simpson Pit Road/County Road 67. Drive 10 km and turn left onto Round Lake Road/County Road 58/Pembroke.
Stay on Round Lake Road for 40 km and then turn left onto Doran Road/County Road 26. Drive 6 km and turn left onto Barron Canyon Road, continue for 46 km. Turn left onto Achray Road, drive 5 km to reach Achray campground.
